Want to enjoy art in its most natural state? For the first time ever, the NCMA will turn off its West Building gallery lights for the summer solstice, June 21 through 24. Thanks to the unique design of the West building (which is 50% glass!) the natural light will shine through, transforming the experience of the art.
The West Building houses most of the Museum's free permanent collection, and the NCMA’s special exhibition You Are Here: Light, Color, and Sound Experiences is also open during those times in the East Building. The Museum is open Thursday, June 21, from 10 am to 5 pm; Friday, June 22, from 10 am to 9 pm; Saturday, June 23, from 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday, June 24, from 10 am to 5 pm.
