Piper Lights is one of the most magical light displays in the Triangle, as proven by winning ABC's "The Great Christmas Light Fight." Make a stop to witness over one million lights twinkling!

By Kelsey Van

Why you should go:

- Piper Lights won ABC's "The Great Christmas Light Fight" in 2016
 - Over 1 million lights are set up, made all the more magical by a reflection in a pond
 - Hop out of the car at the end to ride Santa's train (free)
 - Hit the old-fashioned candy shop at the end for popcorn, hot cocoa, cider and more
 - Piper Lights is a 30-year family tradition

From Piper:

Here’s everything you need to know about visiting our family’s home.

WHAT: Piper Lights is a local, family-run Christmas light display in Wake Forest, NC. Our mom started with a tiny manger scene 30 years ago and we now feature 7 acres of lights. Our only goal is to spread joy and the Christmas spirit to all. Our home features a drive-through light display, a free train ride through the lights, an old-fashioned candy store, and Santa.

WHERE: Visit our display at 5725 Fixit Shop Road in Wake Forest, NC. We anticipate large crowds so please be patient and be prepared to wait on busy nights. Traffic can be heavy and is one-way.

WHEN: We are open daily starting November 29, 2019 through January 2, 2020. The Christmas lights are on 7 days a week on Sunday-Thursday from 5:30-9pm, Friday and Saturday from 5:30-10:00. The store, Santa and train will only run until December 24th, after that it will be a drive-through experience only.

COST: Admission, Santa, and the train are always free, but donations are greatly appreciated. We are not a business but just a family who wants to share the joys of the season with our community. All donations go to light repairs and the electric bill. Our candy store is cash-only, and tips are appreciated for our train drivers.

LIGHT DISPLAYS: For your safety please do not climb on or touch any of the displays. Please keep on the walking path when exploring the lights on foot. The light displays are very fragile. Thanks for helping us keep them in good condition.

SANTA: Santa will be at our candy shop daily from 6:30-9pm Sunday through Thursday. He’ll be here on Friday and Saturday from 6:30-10pm except Christmas Eve. Bring your cameras! Pets are welcome if they do not disrupt other guests. Note: He will NOT be here on Christmas Eve or Christmas through January. He’s a busy guy!

TRAIN: We have an amazing little train that’s free for all to ride. It’s a short trip through a few of our light displays. Get in line near the candy shop. Tips for our drivers are greatly appreciated!

CANDY STORE: Our cash-only candy store features old-fashioned treats, hot beverages, popcorn, shirts, candy, Christmas trees, sweatshirts, hoodies, ornaments, and local holiday crafts. You can also see our 2016 light fight trophy inside!

WEATHER: Piper Lights is open most days. If there is rain or snow, we will not be open. Occasionally we may also have to close for 1-2 day after to ensure the ground is safe for visitors. Please ‘like’ our Facebook page for the latest updates.

PARKING: It's always free to park and drive through our display. However, our neighbors sometimes charge to park in their yard. We cannot control that so please make sure you know where you are parking.

TRASH: Please don't liter. Please be respectful of our home and take all trash home with you. Unfortunately, each night we must do a major trash clean up and we simply cannot keep up with it this year.

PLEASE NOTE: Alcohol or drugs of any kind are never permitted on our property nor will they be tolerated.

QUESTIONS? The best way to contact us is through our Facebook page. We'll get back to you as soon as we can!
