Wander the Wilderness at William B. Umstead State Park
Today, 7:00a - 8:00p
Tucked away between the RDU airport and the town of Cary lays a beautiful little park where you can spend hours getting lost in nature. And by little, we mean over five-thousand and a half acres.
William B. Umstead State Park is probably one of the biggest parks you'll find in the Triangle. With a Raleigh and a Cary entrance, it's easy to see how grandiose we're talking. But don't let that intimidate you! Umstead State Park offers a variety of trails from long, unpaved, foot paths through the forest to paved roads for biking, even some for horseback riding.
If you think you've conquered all the trails of the Triangle, you'll need to dedicate at least a few days to Umstead alone. With so much to explore, it'll be well worth your time.
