This Mint Museum Randolph was the first art museum to be built in NC and now boasts a lovely park setting, hosting collections varying from native American art, to miscellaneous African and European art, from ceramics to a fashion gallery showcasing the history of haute couture. The adjacent gardens themselves make for a great lounging spot, and you can often find visitors picnicking, taking scenic photographs, or going for a jog. Take in the peaceful surroundings and give yourself a day to be educated on local and international art history while simultaneously allowing yourself a soothing afternoon. Keep in mind that you can also explore the Mint's extensive collection at the Mint Uptown. The Mint makes it easy to explore both museums in one day with the free Mint-to-Mint shuttle. Shuttles depart Mint Museum Randolph on the hour and Mint Museum Uptown on the half hour. Bonus: Museum admission is always valid at both locations for two days!
