Tour the Home of the People's President
Today, 9:00a - 4:00p
This beautiful historical plantation is on the outskirts of town and it's where President Andrew Jackson once hung his hat.
If you haven't taken a field trip out to The Hermitage yet, shame on you! This historic gem in our backyard features regularly updated exhibits and a calendar of events throughout the year, like Hauntings at The Hermitage on Halloween and Holiday Tours during the month of December. If you're stopping by the property, you'll want to take a tour that includes a walk through the 1,000 acre grounds, mansion, exhibit gallery and store. If you want to stroll through at your own pace, choose the self-guided audio tour or walk through with an interpreter (dressed in costume, of course!), so you can get all the deets on Mr. Jackson. Pack a lunch and plan to stay awhile or plan to eat at their on-site old-fashioned southern restaurant, The Kitchen Cabinet Cafe.
If you're a real history buff, call ahead and reserve one of their special tours like a Hermitage Ghost Tour or The Hermitage by Wagon Tour.General admission
is $20 for adults, $15 for students and $10 for children 6–12 (children under 6 are free).
