The Scrap Exchange's Grand Opening Throwdown
The Scrap Exchange is reopening with a big ole artsy bash—complete with food trucks, live music, and a ton of demos!
A Durham institution, the Scrap Exchange is a store and maker-space unlike any that you've ever seen. Powered by creativity and environmentally friendly art, the Scrap Exchange has inhabited many different spaces since it's inception in 1991, but they're finally getting a sweet new space on Chapel Hill Road this fall. To celebrate the Scrap Exchange's history, Durhamites are invited to a free, artsy throwdown in their scrappy new pad on October 5th. The festivities will include a tour of the Make-n-Take Room, Don't Waste Durham's first "trash-free food truck rodeo," Junk Jams, live music from local bands and a fund-raising raffle to win a Naked Elf car.
We'll see you there!
About The Scrap Exchange:
For sale at rock-bottom prices, you'll find an assortment of castaway items that many would consider junk. However, "one man's trash is another man's treasure" definitely rings true at Scrap Exchange, as creatively-minded people repurpose the mundane to create extraordinary works of art.
