The Dog Days of DBAP: Bark in the Park
A completely unique experience for many dog-loving baseball fans, Bark in the Park brings an army of pooches adorned with bandanas, jerseys, and hats to DBAP every summer.
Feelings those dog days of summer? Come watch the Durham Bulls hit home runs for the sake of animals in need. In a unique summer spectacle at DBAP, around 200 pooches accompany their masters to enjoy summer entertainment courtesy of the Bulls. As pictures of players’ dogs flash across the scoreboard screen, sit back and revel in the sheer canine diversity, with countless different breeds represented.
For $12, your four-legged friend can accompany you inside the gate to enjoy the game. Fans who fork out a little extra ($25) for their ticket can also enjoy a two-hour, all-you-can-eat American buffet with summer staples like hot dogs, hamburgers, fried chicken, mac and cheese, baked beans, chips and dip, and pepsi products from 6 to 8. Gates open at 6 and the game starts at 7:05.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a real happening without a charity involved. $5 of each ticket price goes towards Second Chance Pet Adoptions’ rescue, no-kill rescue organization that has been finding new, forever homes for the Triangle’s stray and unwanted animals since 1989.
