Free of gluten, but full of flavor—see if you can taste the difference at the Triangle's first gluten-free restaurant.

There was a time when gluten had never entered into the minds (or stomachs) of human beings. Primal Food and Spirits, the first gluten-free restaurant to open its doors in the Triangle, evokes that time. Chef Tim Lyons, also of Blu Seafood, was inspired to open a new concept based on the volume of gluten-free requests he was receiving at Blu. Primal is the finished product. It features a totally gluten-free menu with a farm-to-fork focus and no processed foods. Menu items will rotate seasonally, but you can look forward to dishes like deviled eggs with jalapeños, bacon and paprika aioli. It's okay, we're drooling too.

Now, about those spirits. Primal will be serving up signature cocktails created by the expertise Dave McClean. They will also serve beer, both the gluten and gluten-free varieties.
