Take a Stroll Through the American Tobacco Campus
This Durham architectural gem brings together history and modern design, creating a unique environment for lounging, strolling, or going on a photo snapping binge.
We love Durham for oh so many reasons, but there are a couple of things that this town has perfected into an art: food, beer, and incorporating historical architecture into the new urban landscape, the later epitomized by the American Tobacco Campus. This historic site held a huge role in the development of the flourishing tobacco industry that took over the Bull City and has now been re-invented into a beautiful, brick-clad gathering of restaurants, local businesses, startups, walkways and water works. But you don't have take out your wallet to enjoy the sites—just take some time off, mosey around the rivers or bask in the grass, hang out in the hammocks or play life size, Durham-inspired chess (the pieces look like tobacco leaves, the Lucky Strike tower, bulls, etc) and take in the surrounding beauty.
