Bring a blanket and come enjoy the sounds of jazz and Big Band music and gaze at the stars while experts from the Morehead Planetarium teach you a thing or two about the cosmos.

"SKYWATCHING ON JUNE 2 HAS BEEN CANCELED DUE TO EXTREME CLOUD COVER. WE ARE RESCHEDULING TO JUNE 15, 9 P.M. - MIDNIGHT. Join staff and volunteers from the Morehead Planetarium & Science Center, Chapel Hill Astronomical and Observational Society (CHAOS) and Raleigh Astronomy Club (RAC) for a free skywatching program at Dorothea Dix Park! Telescopes will be set up to view stars and the moon. Look up at the night sky as educators guide you through fun observations of stars, planets, moons, nebulae and other celestial objects!NEW! The Triangle Sax Ensemble will be performing at Dix Park while we look at the stars. Bring a blanket and come enjoy the sounds of jazz and Big Band music while we gaze at the stars.
