Love them or fear them, bees are some very important bzzzness for everyone. Check out this beehive right in the middle of American Tobacco Campus.

What's all the buzz about? Bees pollinate about 1/3 of the vegetation in North America, and pair it with an epidemic of Colony Collapse Disorder, you've got yourself a pretty big problem. That spells fewer flowers and more food shortages for us. So, in order to raise awareness and save populations, the American Tobacco Campus, in conjunction with BeeDowntown, has built an observation hive by the Burts Bees office that houses over fifteen thousand bees! Standing at over six feet tall and two feet wide, it's not the Noah's Ark of bees, but it still goes a long way in helping preserve these vital insects.

Bee Downtown is a local company that installs and maintains beehives on rooftops in cities to help rebuild healthy honey bee populations (there are currently a few apiaries on the rooftops of ATC!). They've also collaborated with RUNAWAY clothes to create and sell a local brand of honey, which you can find at The Makery.
