See a Meteor Shower at Jordan Lake
Free  .  Past

Gaze up at the skies for a special meteor shower this Saturday as experts from the Morehead Planetarium teach you a thing or two about the cosmos.

By Chelsea Pieroni
"Join us for a Skywatching watching session on a special night, Saturday, August 12, 9 p.m. at Jordan Lake's Ebenezer Church Recreation Area (2582 Beaver Creek Road, Apex, North Carolina 27502). We hope to have a good view of the Perseid Meteor Shower.

Skywatching sessions are very informal and family-friendly. Each session is scheduled for two hours, but you can arrive and leave at any time during the session.

NOTE: This is a very popular skywatching session, please carpool where possible. Parking is limited.

Morehead Planetarium hosts free skywatching sessions every month (weather permitting). Morehead educators and Chapel Hill Astronomical and Observational Society (CHAOS) members bring telescopes and guide you through fun observations of stars, planets, moons, nebulae and other celestial objects."
