Scan the Skies at the Star Party
Gaze at the wonders of the galaxy during the Barnard-Seyfert Astronomical Society's monthly Star Parties.
Stand among the stars as you study the cosmos through telescopes provided by members of the Barndard-Seyfert Astronomical Society at their monthly Star Parties. The space gatherings take place at various parks around Nashville and change location each month, providing ample opportunities to take in the universe's beauty. Don't know how to operate a telescope? Have no fear—members of the Astronomical Society are always on hand to ensure every attendee is able to marvel at the solar system. What you'll be able to see varies depending on the time of year, but often includes other planets such as Venus, Mars and Saturn, man-made satellites orbiting Earth, far away constellations and, of course, the Moon.
The Star Parties are family-friendly and free to the public. Party times vary depending on the season of the year.
