Say Cheers to Country Music Royalty at Fontanel Resort
Today, 11:00a - 7:00p
The former home of Barbara Mandrell (she 'Was Country When Country Wasn't Cool', remember?) has been transformed into a happenin' resort that'll wine and dine you from dawn til' dusk.
What better way to spend your Saturday then touring the largest log cabin in the world?! Barb was the first performer to win the Country Music Association's "Entertainer of the Year" award twice—she was the original country music gangster (yes, there was life before T-Swift). Tour the home, take a hike on the trails and greenway, have an adventure with Music City Ziplines, play disc golf, or booze your day away with tastings at Prichard's Distillery and Natchez Hills Winery. If you work up an appetite touring Mandrell's McMansion, the property offers an Italian restaurant, Cafe Fontanella, and Whites Creek Bistro, serving breakfast and lunch. But head's up—these joints aren't highly rated, so you may want to hit the road for delish dishes. You can always hit up the Goo Goo Outpost for a sweet treat (they offer Goo Goos, of course, as well as locally-made Gelato!).
Located about 20 minutes from Nashville, your best bet is to make a reservation for a tour. The site is also home to The Woods Amphitheater, and if they're hosting a show that day the parking lots may be closed.
