Savor Award-Winning Pasta at Gocciolina

Gocciolina is a (not so) hidden gem of excellent Italian fare in Durham, tucked away on Guess Rd. in an everyday strip mall. Come for the mystery, stay for the top notch pastas, antipasti and wine.
When a place is named the 2015 News & Observer Restaurant of the Year, you know you're in for something good. With Gocciolina, that's definitely the case. It's nearly impossible to choose just one plate from their several antipasti and locally-grown vegetable appetizers, so prepare to order lots of food. All of their pasta is made on premises under the tutelage of Aaron Benjamin—a big name in the restaurant biz in Durham—who studied the craft in northern Italy.
Heads up, though! Gocciolina is a compact, nondescript little place that fills up quickly. We'd advise calling for a reservation, first, but once you get in, you'll see that it's well worth the wait.
