Run Through Durant Nature Preserve

Durant Nature Preserve is tucked away in the middle of North Raleigh. The relatively flat trails take you through a variety of habitats, but it's mostly forested. There are creeks and tall hardwoods and lots of nature to look at while you run on the asphalt paved trails.

There are five miles of trails to explore in the park's 237-acres. You can hike along a stream, through hardwood and pine forests, past wildflowers and ferns, through wetlands and alongside two lakes. Mountain biking is allowed on designated trails, but only when trail surfaces are dry (safety first!).
