Run Around Lake Johnson
A trail that can be altered short or longer distance, Lake Johnson presents a woodsy atmosphere, full of beautiful serene lake views.
Lake Johnson has two main loops of trails that you can vary up to your mileage preference. The main Lake Trail is 2.96 miles
that starts right at the park entrance. It is a full loop so you may either start at the boardwalk bridge to the right of the Visitor’s Center, or to the left of the center where the parking lot is. Either way you will end up back where you started! The terrain of this trail is quite hilly, so be prepared for some huffing and puffing. This run is highly recommended to those doing interval and endurance training, sprints, and hill climbs.
If you are looking for a more nature-like experience you can always add on the East Loop Trail or simply do it by itself. The entrance of this trail is directly across the street of Avent Ferry Road where the Visitor’s Center is. The East Loop Trail is 2.1 miles
long and consists of boardwalks and dirt trails. It comes out to the main road which connects you to the end of the Lake Trail.
