Roll On at the Tilthy Rich Celebration Ride
Tilthy Rich is celebrating four years of making Durham a more compost and eco-friendly place with a day-long bike ride through the city paired with giveaways, garden tours, an after party and more!
"For the last 4 years, we've been pedaling away your food scraps from all over Durham. Together, we've composted more than 210,000 lbs of food scraps, helped create thousands of pounds of healthy soil, and avoided around 100 tons of CO2 emissions in the process. We've starved landfills, built 18 community partnerships, and assembled a team of 14 of the best food scrap hustlers you've ever laid eyes on. We've started compost sites at 4 local community gardens and donated our compost services to < 20 different events. And we've done it all BY BICYCLE.
Now it's time to celebrate.
Join us for our first ever Tilthy Rich Celebration Ride on Sunday October 23rd at 2pm to celebrate our 4th birthday, and our composting efforts in Durham.
Here's the dirt: Start at Fullsteam Brewery for a 2.5 mile leisurely (family-friendly) ride. We'll make a loop stopping at 2 of our partner community gardens: Inter-Faith Food Shuttle's Geer St. Garden and SEEDS. There will be a garden activity to get your hands tilthy at Geer St. Garden and a garden tour at SEEDS. Upon our return to Fullsteam, we'll have an afterparty where some of the best beer & food in NC can be purchased, and prizes from 25+ local businesses will be given away.
Registration is FREE, but tiered contribution levels are available to score some gear and increase your chances of winning prizes. Come ride, party or BOTH to help us celebrate composting in Durham!" –Tilthy Rich
