Pass the Peas at Monell's
Today, 10:30a - 2:00p
Southern style-cooking meets family-style dining at this classic meat and three located in a gorgeous Victorian home in Germantown.
After you take a seat at one of Monell's community tables, you'll understand why the Nashville staple coined the phrase "Pass the peas, please." For some reason, the restaurant will bring out your southern hospitality, regardless of which side of the Mason-Dixon you hail from. After meeting your neighbors at the table, you'll no doubt engage in thoughtful conversation (read: put your cell phones in yo' pocket!) as the southern spread fills the center of the table.
So what's for supper? Well, it depends on the day of the week, but you can always expect skillet fried chicken, a meat of the day
, southern veggies (ranging from mac n' cheese to mashed potatoes to corn pudding and cheese grits), salad, biscuits and dessert. Word to the wise, come hungry!
While Monell's does serve lunch and dinner, they're renowned for their brunch! Their Weekend Country Breakfast includes a spread of smoked sausage, bacon, biscuits and gravy, country ham, fried apples, pancakes, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, cheese grits, skillet fried chicken, corn pudding and coffee.
