Nosh on French Flavors at Miel Restaurant

This pint-sized restaurant in Sylvan Park may be small, but its menu is packin' a powerful punch of French flavors.
Miel's executive chef, Andrew Coins, made his way to Nashville from Charleston, South Carolina, but you won't find southern-inspired eats on his menu—no, sir! The quaint French restaurant, located in the historic Johnson's Meat Marketing building just up the road from Coco's Italian Market, is pulling out all the stops for diners. When possible, they're using local ingredients like fresh cheeses from The Bloomy Rind, Nashville wildflower honey and herbs from their very own on-site garden.
If you stop in for dinner at Miel, do it right. The portions tend to be on the smaller side, so start with an appetizer, then move onto the entree course and finish with dessert. Must-dos include Spanish Octopus (Gigandas Lima beans, Buttercup squash, Calabrian chilis, Mizuna, lemon vinaigrette), Braised Pork Shoulder (Parisienne gnocchi, house-pulled mozzarella, arugula, pork jus) and the Artisanal Cheese Selection for an appetizer or dessert. Of course, you'll want to pair every course with a glass of vino. Their wine selection is top notch!
