Make Your Own Cheese at Standing Stone Farms : February Beginner Basic Cheese Class
Learn how to make Ricotta, 45 minute Mozzarella and Butter during this 3-hour class. Each class is BYOB. Participants must be 18 years of age; 21 to drink.
About 45-minutes outside of Nashville, you'll find a boutique dairy goat farm that's cranking out some seriously good cheese. The secret? The farmette (little farm!) raises Nubian goats that are known for producing milk with a high butterfat content that's ideal for cheese making.
Owned by mother-daughter duo Paula and Jennifer Butler, Standing Stone Farm hosts several cheese-making workshops throughout the year where you can learn how to produce your own ricotta, mozzarella, and butter in the 3-hour class. Attendees will also receive instruction on how to make French-Style Chevre and cream cheese in their own kitchen.
Bring a bottle of wine (classes are BYOB!) and prepare to get your hands dirty. Each session is limited to twelve participants, so plan ahead!
