Support breast cancer research as you 'laugh for the cure'—a comedy show with a great cause!

By Mary Katherine Lucy
"Susan G. Komen Charlotte is excited to give supporters a unique and clever opportunity to 'laugh it off!' and support the cause. Comic great, Bobby Collins will be the headlining comedian at the 2016 Laugh for the Cure event on Thursday, March 10, 2016 at the McGlohon Theater in Uptown Charlotte.

Komen Charlotte and Wells Fargo present the annual Laugh for the Cure event to celebrate breast cancer survivors and raise money for community health programs and research. The evening fun includes a cocktail reception, silent and live auctions, entertainment, and a hilarious PG-13 comedy show.

As one of America's sought-after comic performers, Bobby Collins is known for making people laugh at the 'everyday' observations of life. 'Laughing can be a stress reliever,' says Collins. 'And when I interact with the audience, they see new things about their everyday world that make them smile. It's a release.'

'Being able to see the humorous side of life's ups and downs – like a rained out fundraising event – is just what our supporters deserve and will enjoy,' says Tami Simmons, Executive Director of Komen Charlotte. 'As we celebrate 15 years of Laugh for the Cure, we want to make it a very special and memorable event for everyone.'

'Laugh for the Cure' has grown from a modest grass-roots effort started in 2002 by a group of friends in Charlotte each of whose lives have been touched by breast cancer, to a national Susan G. Komen program. Laugh for the Cure was founded and led by Tammy Greyshock in celebration of her mother (now a 28 year survivor), to remember loved ones she and her friends had lost, celebrate survivors and assist those in the community currently impacted by the disease" -Blumenthal Performing Arts.

General admission tickets include a pre-show reception—which will begin at 5:30p, free heavy hors d'oeuvres buffet, a cash bar and admittance into the comedy show. For an additional $15 you can purchase VIP seats that in addition to the general admissions perks will include access to the VIP reception, complimentary drink and end of the night goodie bags.
