Come explore Hanging Rock State Park with us! On this adventure you’ll hike, take in the sights, relax around waterfalls. Discover Troy’s Den and its history during the American Revolution. A hiking trail network that is picturesque and diverse covers more than 18 miles and leads to mountain views, rock outcrops, waterfalls and even a mountain cave. We’ll end the afternoon exploring downtown Winston Salem’s art district and grab an early dinner before heading home. Participants are required to bring a water bottle/hydration pack, lunch, and additional money for dinner/souvenirs.
Launched in 2011, Kids to Parks Day is a nationwide celebration of the great outdoors organized by the National Park Trust and is designed to connect kids and families with their local, state, and national parks and public lands.
By discovering and exploring our public lands, kids across the country can learn about park stewardship, outdoor recreation, STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), and the history of our country.
