Join the Charlotte Folk Society for their monthly gathering featuring performances from world-class musicians, jam sessions and refreshments—bonus, it's all for free!

By Kelsey Van

Once a month, on the second Friday, Charlotte Folk Society hosts their Gathering series, a family-friendly and free event featuring amazing folk, blues and Americana musicians. Performances start at 7:30p and are usually accompanied by a song circle, jam sessions, a songwriters' workshop, and an Appalachian dulcimer group. Visitors are welcome to join in or simply listen. Donations are appreciated and essential to holding Gatherings in the Great Aunt Stella Center. Free parking is available in the Mecklenburg County parking deck located on 4th Street, between Kings Drive and McDowell Street. Walk out the rear of the deck and cross the parking lot to the Stella Center. The ground floor entrance on the side of the building is accessible. An elevator takes visitors to the second-floor concert space.
