Hike Up Hills on the Harpeth Woods Trail
Today, 6:00a - 11:00p
The longest trail in Edwin Warner Park covers part of the original Natchez Trace and crosses an old rock quarry.
Though often overshadowed by trails in Percy Warner, Harpeth Woods Trail in Edwin Warner Park is definitely worth exploring. Covering two and a half miles and rated as moderate, the loop trail traverses the interior portions of the park. The path can be picked up from any one of three trailheads and three-fourths of a mile of the route follows the historic Natchez Trace. You'll also stumble upon an old rock quarry that was active in the 1930s and early 1940s when the Works Progress Administration was doing stonework and building roads in the Parks. Even better—your furry friend is allowed to join you as long as it's on a leash!
