Go Greek at Kipos
Today, 11:30a - 3:00p
All hail Giorgios, for bringing Greece to Chapel Hill. Kipos not only serves up an authentic and amazing Greek menu, but also an authentic and enjoyable experience.
Kipos, inspired by owner Giorgios's childhood memories of Greece and the magic his mother worked in the kitchen, truly captures the ambiance of the Mediterranean and succeeds in transporting you to their time and pace.
The menu features Greek classics such as mousaka, lamb youvetsi and baklava, as well as signature items like handmade phyllo pies, youvarelakia and rabbit stifado. Although we can't pronounce them, we sure can eat 'em. The Xtiti Piti (we actually know how to pronounce this one, "hee-tee pee-tee") is a fantastic starter to share, although after your first taste you might not be so into sharing.
The decor is as beautiful as the food. Both the patios and the interior will have you wanting to lounge around for hours, sipping slowly and relishing that leisurely dining experience Europe does so well. A belly dancer is often present on Friday evenings, wowing diners with her moves. Also, you shouldn't be surprised if Giorgios pulls you from your seat to join in the Greek equivalent of a line dance. Opa!
