Get Outdoors and Explore the Neuse River Trail
The Neuse River Trail is a 27.5 mile adventure course that will never leave you bored!
The Neuse River Greenway Trail offers scenic views of the Neuse River, winding boardwalk areas through wetlands, historical sights, interpretive signs, and agricultural fields. In addition to being part of the City's Capital Area Greenway System, it is a segment of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail, which is a long distance trail that runs across North Carolina from the Great Smoky Mountains to the Outer Banks. There are several different points where you can park and start your adventure
on this monster of a trail.
Be sure to check out the parking area
right before the Suspension Bridge.
The Sunflower Fields:
If you're looking for another Instagramable spot, check out the lower Neuse Greenway. As Triangle Explorer
puts it in our 12 Mind Blowing Triangle Running Trails,
piece, "at mile 23 you'll encounter acres upon acres of golden sunflowers blooming just off the trail. It's a great spot to stop, enjoy the view and snap a selfie. Be sure to visit before the July heat wilts all the flowers!"
Want Siri to take you straight there? Punch in 8232 Old Baucom Road
and hit "go". There's no parking on this stretch of the trail, but you won't be the only one stopped on the side of the road admiring the scenery.
