You can't go wrong with any of Fullsteam's brews. Brewed with local farmed goods, heirloom grains and seasonal botanicals, there are several unique standouts that shouldn't be missed. For example, The Carver is a lager brewed with NC sweet potatoes, the Working Man's Lunch pays tribute to the Southern tradition of an RC Cola and a MoonPie, the Hogwash hickory is a medium bodied, bacon-infused, smoked porter, and the Summer Basil is an extremely refreshing summer ale with notes of basil and pepper. Yeah, they get creative! Evergreens aside, you'll also find a variety of new and seasonal brews added on tap each week.
Bent on supporting NC from the plow to the pint, "Chief Executive Optimist" Sean Wilson opened Fullsteam in a former bottling plant on Rigsbee Avenue in '09. Though the decor has changed, the DNA of the bottling plant remains, giving way to a very welcoming, open space composed of brick, steel, blond wood and red walls. The main room inside of Fullsteam features large communal picnic tables backed by a massive glass wall that separates the drinkers from the towering brewing vats.
