The Diamond is comfort food, plain and simple. Meatloaf and mashed potatoes like mom did (or didn't) make, fried fish on Fridays, a perfectly cooked Big Block burger or a Winky Dinky Dog and a PBR, fried okra, mac 'n cheese and green beans—they've got options and they're all good. Always opt for the fried pickles. The Diamond isn't fancy, to be honest it's pretty much a dive, but that's part of its charm. A checkerboard floor, juke box and retro signage add to the appeal. You can always expect to be in diverse company—you'll find politicians, skaters, folks from down the street drinking, dining and enjoying themselves.
