In just under two hours time, you'll arrive at Rock Island State Park if you're hitting the road from Music City. But you'll soon forget the drive time when you see what the 883-acre park has to offer its guests. From the Caney Fork River Gorge to Great Falls, you'll find breath-taking scenery around every turn.
If you've been in Nashville long, chances are you've heard that Center Hill Lake is the cream of the aquatic crop. Well, it is, and the lake resides in Rock Island State Park! Launch a boat or kayak to admire the clear blue water, swim and cliff jump (although authorities would discourage it!). Fun fact: Rock Island is also known for white water kayaking and has hosted international freestyle events.
