Create at The Scrap Exchange: Zero Waste Dyeing
Join Vancouver artist Katherine Soucie and learn the sequential method of acid dyeing, using environmentally friendly dyes to color silk, wool and nylon. You'll go home with dyed samples and recipes to repeat at home. Students should bring rubber gloves and an apron, and a dust mask if possible. Workshop is $60, plus an additional materials fee $20.
The Scrap Exchange, a warehouse chockfull of recycled and re-used items, wants to teach you how to re-use and recycle to make beautiful art. They invite artists from all over to teach classes that cover all kinds of crafts, from dyeing to weaving and beyond. Join this colorful spot in the Lakewood district and go home with some DIY gold!
