Cool Off at Greeter Falls
Today, 6:00a - 8:00p
Less than an hour and a half from Nashville is the Greeter Falls Trail, a 1.6-mile loop featuring a towering waterfall that drops over limestone cliffs into a crystal clear pool below.
Ready for a weekend adventure? Greeter Falls, located inside the sprawling 15,590-acre Savage Gulf State Natural Area, is a real beauty and the perfect hiking destination. While Savage Gulf has over 50 miles of trails to choose from, Greeter Falls is a 1.6-mile loop that's ideal for moderate hikers. The falls cascade over a 15-foot upper ledge before cascading 50 feet into a crystal clear pool of water.
If you're used to battling the crowds at Cummins Falls, don't worry about that here! The trail is moderately trafficked, so you'll have optimal views of the falls and the opportunity to scout the perfect spot for a picnic. And if it's a hot Middle Tennessee day, you'll wanna jump in to cool off!
Pro tips: this trail is dog-friendly, as long as your four-legged friend's on a leash. There's a metal spiral staircase on the trail that can get slick at times, so wear sturdy shoes and keep an eye on the kiddos.
