This little nook in North Durham brings freshly baked French delicacies, sweet treats and infinite breads.

By Chelsea Pieroni
Benjamin Messaoui is a French Master Baker, bread expert and patissier who has decided to take his talents (President Bill Clinton is a fan) to Durham and open up his own shop.

The shelves are stacked with bread—baguettes, sourdough, pumpernickel, whole wheat cranberry pecan, you name it. You'll also find some cute sweets, like coffee cake, brownies, cookies and cupcakes. Ok, there's a dash of American in these recipes, but homemade from scratch by a famed French baker puts them on a whole new level. Other items include quiches and stuffed focaccia.

The interior is both quaint and lofty, with adorable repurposed furniture, like a random Singer sewing machine turned table.
