Binge on Asian BBQ at KoKyu Na'Mean
The beloved food truck opens up a permanent shop in South Durham, dishing out the baddest banh mi you've ever had.
If you've hung around Durham then chances are you've heard of the KoKyu truck—often found on Rigsbee between Fullsteam and Motorco, serving delicious Korean and Asian Fusion BBQ from a graffiti'd truck, and handing out playing cards to keep up with your order. You also probably knew that it started as one lone food truck and then upgraded to two. So you'll be psyched to know KoKyu made a 3 from the 2 and just opened its very own brick and mortar: Na'Mean.
Located in South Durham—perfect for all you little RTP geeks—Na'Mean is still as colorful as its original mobile junction: murals, vintage diner vibes, and an expanded menu. Equal parts veggie and omnivore, with a new special in every other day—the food is savory, fresh, crisp, and flavorful. They've kept the delicious, but low-key food truck vibes, but just cranked it up a notch with more food and seating options. All sandwiches come with a free side, which means Spicy Kimchi Cucumbers, Ginger Roasted Brassicas, and more. In terms of beverages you can also sip on some sweet soda from Brood Carbonated Greatness and homemade cinnamon horchata!
Currently they're open for lunch Monday through Friday, but we suggest staying tuned—'cause we're really hoping for some bangin' KoKyu banh mi for dinner, na'mean?
